First, of all, I have spent over a thousand dollars in repairs just this month.
On top of that, then you run into these following issues almost daily.
I had a small hotel that I used to get a lot of business from call me last night out of the blue. She had a passenger that needed a ride downtown and the lady does not use uber.
So I am supposed to be there at 1115 am this morning to pick her up. As, I am driving there at 11 am, the hotel calls me and tells me that she found another ride. She calls me at 11 am.
There are plenty of other things I still need to do. And getting ready to go there was just a waste of time and energy.
Then while driving back to my house, which I have to now figure out why I keep having to spray starting fluid in my 2011 dodge grand caravan in order for it to start, I get a computer call for some place in south Irving. So, I drive there and arrive on time.
I get to the drive way and call the passenger and the lady tells me that she already left, that she rode with her mom. No consideration of my time and my gas to drive there.
Now, I got to stay home and rip my taxi back apart to try and figure out what the problem is but so far just this weekend, I installed a new brake booster, a master cylinder, new brake pads and it looks like the caliper will be next.
Oh, yeah and after that I will have to replace fuel pump and then after that change the spark plugs, and after that the transmission filter and fluid. All money being charged and going out. None coming in.
Another day in the life of driving a taxi in the Dallas area where you get no respect and seems to now be no business.
Don’t get me wrong, i still get computer calls, but people have no consideration of a taxi drivers time or cost of doing business so every call is a gamble.
This is a slight better video to show what goes on at Dallas Love Field when no one is there keeping TNC’s at bay. I will be sending this one to the City as well.
LYFT AND UBERX DO NOT HAVE THE SAME REQUIREMENTS TO TRANSPORT PASSENGERS TO/FROM DALLAS LOVE FIELD OR ANYWHERE IN THE CITY OF DALLAS. CHANNEL 8’S JENNY DORAN PUT OUT THIS STORY ABOUT HOW LYFT AND UBER HAVE THE SAME RULES AS TAXI CABS AND THIS IS ANYTHING BUT TRUE. JENNY DORAN CHANNEL 8 NEWS WFAA REPORT.
HERE IS A COPY OF THE 19 POINT INSPECTION THAT LYFT HAS DONE. SHE STATES THAT ALL FOR HIRE TYPE HAVE THE SAME CREDENTIALS.

Apparently, for Taxi only, not only do we pass through a toll gate upon entering the taxi queue at Dallas Love Field and again when we load at the lower level, where we are charged $2.50-$2.88, we now are also going to be tracked leaving the taxi queue.
Taxi drivers get towed, cited, and harassed on a regular basis while TNC’S such as Uber and Lyft get a free pass. They have no regulation and no problems with law enforcement.
A fair house bill 2440 was killed after a local Dallas district 12 council member, Sandy Grey’s on wrote Senator Joe Strauss. She had a hand in stopping the bill from being enacted saying that the bill would impose an uneven playing field for nonregulated, private car drivers and the TNC companies that will expand into other cities.
Taxi drivers are under constant scrutiny from all angles. A few days ago, we got this message on our computers,. See below.
There are plenty of reasons that Uber/UberX, Lyft and all so called TNC’s (transportation network companies) need regulations. Sandy Greyson is the reason that house bill 2440 Statewide regulation was killed in the senate. She convinces Senator Joe Straus to kill the bill.
Dallas transportation and Dallas police especially at Love Field cannot handle the huge influx of TNC drivers loading illegally at arrivals at Love Field because they are not identified. They come in and park at arrivals. Many of them only have paper plates. They do not have even a vehicle registered in their name. They are constantly pushing the limits of the Police officers capabilities at Love Field since they do not have a sticker identifing them as a TNC driver. These drivers are causing a huge amount of traffic in Dallas Love field and are unruly. If you do not believe me, just come out here around 11pm at night especially Sunday and Monday night.
TNC drivers do not pay tolls that limo ad taxi drivers pay to transport passengers. The revebue generated from the tolls alone could pay the salary of another 2 or 3 police officers to remain on duty at any time flights would be arriving at Dallas Love Field Airport.
Taxi drivers are constantly harressed in the city of Dallas and at Dallas Love Field. Yet, taxi drivers are amoung only the few that are completely legal.
The public should be concerned of their saftey when your lives are at risk when riding with an inexperienced, not trained, not regulated not registered with the airport, not identified, many not even having a vehicle registered to them and most definitely not have a criminal backgound check.
Sandy Greyspon district 12, does not have the public’s saftety in the forefront of her priority list.
She is a huge Uber supporter and is only concerned with helping Uber to grow and take over all of transportation throughout the whole state of Texas. It makes one wonder, whom is she really working for.
Sandy Greyson needs to be replaced as a council member in district 12. Please vote a more responsible opponent to council.
Just today, I took video of what happens at Dallas Love Field when left unattended by police. I will add the video as soon as I trim it down some.
A freeloader that cannot drive. Stop UBERX from loading at Dallas Love Field.
Taxi drivers used to pay $1.15 to load at Love Field. NOW, we pay almost $3 every time we load at Dallas Love Field Airport. It is ridiculous the amount if soliticing from UberX happening at Love Field. The city of Dallas needs to step up and stop UberX from working at Dallas love Field. It is not right that we should pay and uberX and Lyft not pay. It will stop if i have anything to do with it.
These cars are not dropping off. They are waiting to solicit. If they were following what Love Field set up for then, they would be loading downstairs where taxis load. But, if they load, they need to pay. What is wrong with this corrupt city of Dallas?
