UBER SOLICITING RIDES ILLEGALLY

UBER SOLICITING RIDES ILLEGALLY

NOTHING NEW HAPPENS ALL THE TIME IN DALLAS

UNDERCOVER INVESTIGATION  PROVES  ACCUSATIONS  OF  UBER  DRIVERS

ILLEGALLY SOLICITING RIDES AT    AIRPORTS AND  OTHERWISE.

The other day at DFW, a passenger  gets out of her Uber drivers vehicle and gets into a cab

and said please take me. The Uber driving reeked of alcohol.

I hope that this actually gets enforced. It is really simple if police would do their jobs and the responsible parties issuing driver permits would do their job.

At DFW, this not the case.  Drivers for Uber and Lyft are required to have Vehicle decal that identifies them as a TFH driver.

If decal is in place, the drivers can easily be recognized.  When drivers are not where they are supposed to be, such as hanging out at the terminal waiting for a ping verses being dispatched from the area designated for them, police should ticket them  and/or arrest them and have their vehicle impounded.

There is not one good legal reason to give special treatment to these drivers whom just cannot seem to follow the laws.

It is not rocket science and by enforcing the laws enacted by the city councils, would free up so much waisted time officers are now just waiving people through, directing traffic and ignoring what is going on right under there nose.

The drivers who continue to break the law should be deactivated by Uber and Lyft and this should be monitored by the airports.

Dismissing the blatant activity of ignorant drivers is causing chaos and creating unnecessary traffic congestion and forcing the police to instead of maintaining a secure airport, now just directing traffic

Otherwise, anyone would only conclude that there are sinister reasons why airports would be allowing anything but law and order at any airport.

Finally, insurance requirements increased liability for Uber and Lyft drivers.  Instead of the conventional

image

30/60/25 drivers must beef up their private insurance policy to 50/100/25 which will no doubt increase their monthly insurance premiums.  This is the insurance required for when they do not have a passenger.  This insurance requirement for when passenger is inside vehicle is covered under the so called 1 million dollar policy that Uber claims to have.  However, that policy does not cover the Uber or Lyft driver.  Drivers are screwed in either case if they have an accident. And, believe me there are plenty examples of TNC driver accidents.
The 1 million dollar policy is a really a joke as well especially when Uber makes everyone accept the terms and their disclaimer that waives Uber or any Liability.
Pretty much, the insurance sounds good, but, what on earth do you really get?
This falls right along the same lines as how Uber secretly launches into a new market and announcing their presence only after gaining a substantial market share.  vindictive  and underhanded way of conducting business.

CITIZENS OF THE DALLAS AREA NEED TO WAKE UP AND UNDERSTAND THAT WITH UBER AND LYFT, unless driver has commercial insurance such as the SUV’s and limos, that your lives are in the hands of drivers that do not have the right type of insurance to cover you in the case of an accident.

See this convo between two TNC drivers.

I have said it here before and it bears mentioning again.  If you have an accident driving your car when you use it for business, your insurance will not cover you.  You will end up like this guy, broke and hurt and no help from Uber and no help from his insurance.

It matters not if you have a passenger with you at the time.  Unless you have commercial insurance, you are screwed.
SEE STORY HERE

Uber driver runs redlight hitting police and passenger is killed this morning.

Just the other night, a lady cqme bolting out of an Uber X drivers vehicle at DFW airport, and asked the taxi driver to take her home.  She refused to ride in the UberX vehicle because the driver smelled like alcohol.  She did not even let the police know.  She just got into the cab and left.  This is more common than you may think because at DFW and the metroplex, there are no longer any rules or regulations to follow unless you are a taxi driver.

The below story is very sad.  A young man lost his life due to the negligence, that I believe lies on Uber.  This man had no business transporting passengers.

Proof Personal Insurance will not cover you Denied/Canceled

I purchased this minivan in December 2013.  As required when being financed, I had to have full coverage for insurance. I took it to Yellow Cab to have it painted for Executive and one of the managers told me that I needed to add collision.  I called State Farm to have them add collision onto my policy and I told them that Yellow Cab told me to add it to the policy.  January and February I did not work due to getting really sick.

The second week of March, i started to get out for short periods of time.  On March 17th,
I just left the house and was cruising down I35 headed to downtown Dallas.  This is the only vehicle that I had because I sold my car.

I did not have the meter on and I was alone.
I exit Wyciff and decided to cruise through the Anatoyle.
While on the service road, I approached a Dart bus that was stopped with hazards flashing at a bus stop.

I needed to turn right and so I went around him to get in the lane to turn.  As soon as I try and switch to the far right lane, he takes off hitting my windows on the passenger side knocking out my power sliding door window and the rear window with this big black mirror.  His rear view mirror ended up in my third row back seat.

Not only did he knock out the windows, he mangled the door and the rear quarter panel.
I could not believe that he just took off and hit me.  I really think he did it on purpose.

Of course, the police come and when they got there, they gave me a citation for improper lane change.  Note, the city of Dallas owns Dart and the police work for the city of Dallas.

The police asked me if I had called Yellow Cab to report for insurance and at that time I told him that I did not call them because I have my own insurance.

While on scene, I called,State Farm to report the accident.  The very next day, I get a call from a State Farm Agent who told me that the accident would not be covered for my vehicle or for the other party.

In the policy, the insurance says that “if engaged in transporting passengers for hire” something to that affect, that they would not cover the claim.

My argument is I was not working, I did not have anyone with me and I did not have the meter turned on. Also, I had already told them that I was driving for Yellow Cab and they already knew that I drove taxi but did not say anything except to add the collision that I asked them to do. State Farm did not cover my claim even though I was not driving for hire at the time because I was set up like a transportation for hire. It did not matter if I did or did not even have a passenger at the time of the accident.

That accident cost me close to $2500 for attorney to have ticket deferred, the violation amount, and the cost to replace my rear sliding door, windows rear quarter panel and paint.

Now, the City of Dallas/Dart Bus Company expects that I should pay for the repair of their bus of what they claim cost $2,126.33 to repair.

Letter demanding payment

I told Dart that I have never seen evidence of any damages I am not paying them anything for which I cannot see the proof of damages.

This is the reason that you should not expect that your personal auto insurance policy will cover your claim if you are involved in accident.  If you are driving for UBER OR LYFT OR ANY ride sharing company without commercial insurance, do not expect that they will cover a claim even if you do not have a passenger.

I pay Yellow cab, included in the $1300 I give them every month. $400 of the $1300 goes to commercial insurance for the business of transporting passengers 24/7, 365 days a year.  This is the kind of insurance required to transport passengers for hire.
Got it?
I will locate and add pics of my van later.

UBER ACCIDENTS A FEW OF THEM AND ALSO A LIST OF ASSAULTS

wpid-2015-06-08_15.29.16.jpgUber and Lyft neither one do fingerprint background check, yet millions of people put there lives in the hands of these drivers everyday.  Here in Dallas, the transportation regulation changed the requirements to get permitted so that Uber could become legal to work here.  All they have to do is download a permit from the CIty of Dallas.

No driver training, no classes and certainly not what a taxi driver used to have to go through to get a permit.

Anyway, see this link for accidents and assaults by Uber and I think Lyft .
